Good morning!

Apparently Camden really wanted to get up early today. Last night went about as usual- in bed by 8, up at midnight, up at four - but here's where he got creative! He woke up at 4, 5:15, 6 & 6:45! So I finally got up and brought him downstairs to watch the news with me. He is now asleep in his swing, but can I go to sleep? Of course not! I am so looking forward to him sleeping through the night!

In other news: I got my first donations for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! If you would like to make a donation, go to http://info.avonfoundation.org/site/TR/Walk/Chicago?px=5889493&pg=personal&fr_id=2030. I am also making bracelets to help me raise money - if you would like to purchase one, they are $10 (with shipping) and you can email me with your address- csbe10@yahoo.com.

Camden is growing up!

Camden is almost four months old and he changes so much every day! He knows when we are playing 'get the baby' with him and giggles before we have even started tickling him. He has his own sense of humor. This morning I was staining the door we are going to hang for our new pantry, so I faced his swing towards the tv so he would have some entertainment. I turned on Americas Funniest Home videos and he started laughing at the tv! He has started to reach for his toes and holds them, but he only likes to do it if his feet are bare. He tried so hard to talk and can repeat sounds that we make. His daddy had him saying 'boo' over and over again one night and now he will say it throughout the day, not that he really knows that it means anything, but he tries.

I am so blessed to have this perfect little boy in my life. I have heard a few stories lately of people who have lost their babies that were around his age and it breaks my heart. I couldn't imagine my life without Camden. The picture of him in his bow tie is in memory of baby Maddie. She was four months old when she passed away and her mommy asked for everyone to put a bow on their baby yesterday in memory of her. I am so thankful for our happy, healthy baby!

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

So I decided that I am going to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this year in Chicago. I am trying to lose weight and get into better shape and I think this will help keep me motivated. Also, I would be walking in memory of my grandma.

My grandma and grandpa raised me and my sister from the time I was two years old. My grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was born. she was treated and had a mastectomy. She was in remission for many many years, but when I was in high school she started having some health problems. She had heart palpitations and lots of digestive problems. One night her stomach swelled up so much she looked like she was nine months pregnant, so we went to the emergency room. After waiting all night, they said she just had indigestion and to go home. The same thing happened the next night, so we went back. They still said it was indigestion, so they sent her home again. Finally, her cardiologist had her admitted. The Dr's couldn't figure out what was wrong, so they decided to do exploratory surgery. They found tumors all over her body. Apparently they missed some of the breast cancer 17 years before and it had kept spreading. She didn't want treatment, so we made her comfortable at home until she passed away. She was only in her early 50's.

I want to walk in memory of her. I can't believe she never met my husband or our baby. She taught me so much and I miss her every day.

Wow, I forgot I had this blog!

So I just found this blog again! Well, as you probably figured out, we had our baby. Camden Richard was born on October 28th at 12:34 weighing in at 6 lbs 8 oz. He is perfect! He has taught me a lot in the three months that he has been in our lives.

Life is crazy, but I think we are getting closer to having everything balanced.
